Researcher and Writer Jamie Holmes with “The Free and the Dead”

Randy welcomes author Jamie Holmes to the show to talk about a fascinating story from the early 1800s that took place in present-day Florida that you probably don’t know much about. The book is entitled: “The Free and the Dead: The Untold Story of the Black Seminole Chief, the Indigenous Rebel, and America's Forgotten War,” and it is an account of a nearly decade-long war between native tribes in the region and the United States Military.
