The National Memorial Day Concert honors our country’s veterans, servicemen and women and military families, and Celebrity Salute is proud each year to promote this celebration on the National Mall in Washington D.C. It will be a very special Memorial Day this year as it is both the 250th birthday of our Nation, as well as the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks on 9/11. Taking part in these festivities is the 43rd Surgeon General of the U.S., Lt General Patricia Horoho who was present at the Pentagon on September 11th when it was hit by a hijacked airliner. Patty will be telling her story of the events of 9/11 and we hope you’re able to tune in on PBS!

Son of Jimmy Carter, Chip Carter, and Habitat for Humanity CEO Johnathan Reckford join Celebrity Salute to promote the annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project for Habitat for Humanity that is making a return to the Atlanta area, providing housing for those in need, as they mark the 50th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity and President Jimmy Carter’s presidency. Randy speaks with Chip and Jonathan about the great endeavor, and extolls the virtues of NEVER retiring.

Celebrity Salute is proud of our longstanding partnership with the incomparable Home Depot Foundation, serving veterans and their families to address many issues, especially veteran and accessible housing. Home Depot Foundation has improved the homes of over 70,000 veterans across out country, and Erin Izen fills us in on where Team Depot is heading next. Thank you so much to Home Depot and the Home Depot Foundation for their support of America’s military and veterans!

Celebrity Salute welcomes back US Army Veteran and author of the incredible Pike Logan series, Brad Taylor, to the podcast. Brad and Randy talk about the newest installment, the 20th in the series, Shadow Strike: A Pike Logan Novel. Randy and Radney (keep it straight) discuss the mission of Songwriting With Soldiers as well as Radney’s incredible career. The new single “The One They Call” written with former Army Sgt. Matthew Chapman and his wife Debbi, who finally agreed to marry Chapman after he deployed to Iraq in the early 2000s because, as the song goes, “if anything happens, I want to be the one they call.”

We welcome back actress Lena Hall to Celebrity Salute to talk about both her acting and singing on the second season of the Apple TV’s Your Friends and Neighbors. Lena and Randy talk about her cover performances, which we listen to a bit of her Radiohead cover of “Fake Plastic Trees”(she also fronts the INCREDIBLE all-girl Labiahead), what it’s like acting alongside Jon Hamm and her incredible co-stars, and much more

Celebrity Salute is thrilled to welcome a force in aerospace achievement, the first woman to ever command a US spacecraft, a retired NASA astronaut and Air Force colonel, Eileen Collins! Eileen is the subject of the new documentary Spacewoman, which chronicles her trailblazing NASA career and personal life, based on her memoir Through the Glass Ceiling to the Stars. It is receiving a select theatrical release in March 2026.

Greg Warren joins the podcast to talk comedy, the Midwest, and his involvement in the new Nate Bargatze game show “Greatest Average American.” The show celebrates the power of being perfectly average.
