Pilot Program for Using Psilocybin to Treat PTSD

A novel type of treatment of PTSD in veterans using psilocybin is underway in a pilot program that is led by Dr. Lori Davis, a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology, University of Alabama Health System, in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. Dr Lori is Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development Service for the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL, and Dr Davis is using her experience working with the VA on these new trials, and she explains the rapid pace of the exciting news coming from this type of treatment.
